Vintage Japanese Matcha Bowl, Chawan - Plum and Bird
A vintage Japanese chawan, a bowl for drinking matcha, with steeply flared walls on a low foot.
The ground is a speckled cream glaze over a dimpled surface. A plum branch is painted across one side, its trunk and branches in black with small orange blossoms and green leaves along them, and a green bird perches where the branch turns. The interior carries the same speckling and is left undecorated.
