This vintage Japanese chawan is a hand-crafted bowl traditionally used for whisking matcha, powdered green tea.
A gently flared, bowl-shaped form (wan-nari) with a cream ash glaze and brown streaking running diagonally over the pale body, with visible throwing lines.
