A vintage Japanese matcha bowl, known as a chawan, hand-crafted for use in tea ceremony.
A rounded, bowl-shaped form (wan-nari) with a grey glaze. A branch of blossoms and leaves is brushed across one side in dark iron pigment, with a small painted mark near the base.
