Vintage Japanese Chawan, Tea Bowl - Black Glaze, Geometric Motif
This Japanese tea bowl features a hand-thrown, organic form. The exterior is coated in a thick, matte black glaze with a rugged "orange peel" texture, characterised by tiny gas bubbles formed during a high-temperature kiln firing. Contrasting against the dark surface are hand-drawn geometric motifs.
The base reveals a warm, unglazed terracotta foot ring with three circular spur marks, as well as an artist signature.
