Japanese Studio Pottery Chawan, Tea Bowl - Oribe Glaze
A vintage Japanese tea bowl featuring a distorted, asymmetrical form with an organic, sloping rim and a vibrant, multi-layered oribe glaze.
The upper collar is coated in a glossy, copper-green glaze that stops abruptly at a pair of incised horizontal lines, while the heavily faceted and sculpted lower section transitions into a mottled, dark mix of forest green, metallic black, and scorched brown.
We believe the visible signature on the base of this piece attributes it to Yamaguchi Makoto, however this item is without it's original box and information leaflet so we are unable to verify.
We offer delivery Australia-wide.
- Free shipping on textiles, kimono, yukata
