Vintage Japanese SAKIORI Obi
A sakiori obi is a type of Japanese obi (a sash worn with a kimono) made using the sakiori technique of textile recycling.
Sakiori involves tearing old, worn-out fabric into strips and re-weaving them into new textiles, often using a warp of different material. This creates a unique, textured fabric with a rustic aesthetic, commonly seen in casual obi.
