Antique Japanese Folk Art Boro / Sakiori
A Japanese Boro textile, specifically called a Sakiori. This was used as a rug or futon cover dating back over 100 years.
Sakiori involves tearing old, worn-out fabric into strips and re-weaving them into new textiles, often using a warp of different material. This creates a unique, textured fabric with a rustic aesthetic, commonly seen in casual obi.
