Vintage Japanese Kogo, Incense Container - Sleeping Animal
Modelled as a curled sleeping animal, this vintage Japanese kogo is a lidded container for incense, and comes with its wooden box.
Mottled amber and cream glaze settles into the folds of the back and haunches. The ear stands proud of the head and the muzzle and forepaw are fully modelled. Lifting the lid along the line of the body opens a plain glazed well inside.
