Vintage Japanese Chawan Tea Bowl - Stoneware, Green Ash Glaze
A vintage Japanese chawan, a hand-thrown tea bowl traditionally used for whisking and drinking matcha, powdered green tea.
Cylindrical in shape (tsutsu-gata), with a green ash glaze pooling into deep drips over a warm gold body. The foot ring is left unglazed, showing the raw clay and a small stamped mark.
