Vintage Japanese Ceramic Tanuki Statue
A vintage Japanese ceramic tanuki statue, standing with a small slip at its chest, symbolizing trust and honesty, and a wide hat over its head.
Tan glazed body with a deeper copper tone across the hat and shoulders, and green painted accents at the cord tying a small sake bottle to its hip. A Japanese character is inscribed on the chest slip. The face carries a fixed, wide-eyed expression, with a rounded belly typical of the form.
