Small Vintage Japanese Ceramic Maneki Neko Money Box
A vintage Japanese ceramic maneki neko money box, seated upright with one front paw raised.
White glazed body with red-painted ears and a red collar patterned in green and gold. A gold-toned oval medallion at the chest carries a painted character that reads close to 福 (fuku, meaning good fortune). Black-ringed gold spots mark the back and paws, with fine painted whisker lines and a small red nose on the face. A coin slot is set into the back of the piece. Some wear and paint loss is visible on the ears and collar.
