Hotei, the god of contentment and happiness, is one of of the seven lucky gods. Also known as the laughing monk this statue features a rich earthen body and teal robes detailed with gold and brown patterning. He stands open-robed, belly exposed, holding a fan and cloth sack with an expression of delight.
