An antique Japanese 6 drawer document chest of drawers. Made from hinoki (cypress) wood, with kiri (paulownia) wood drawers, and iron hardware. Meiji period, c.1890.
The piece features six drawers arranged in two columns, each fitted with iron rectangular pulls and corner hardware, with a central lock to the uppermost drawers.
