Vintage Japanese Matcha Bowl, Chawan - Earthy Brown Glaze

A vintage hand-crafted Japanese tea bowl, called a chawan. These bowls are designed for drinking matcha, a powdered form of green tea.

This piece features a striking glaze of earthyh browns, greens, and creams, as well as a hantsutsu-gata (半筒形) - half-cylindrical type shape and an artists signature. 

This item comes with its original storage box (tomobako).
