A vintage Japanese aka raku chawan (tea bowl), designed to be used to drink matcha, a powdered form of green tea.
This item was made by renowned potter Waraku Kawasaki, the seventh and current headmaster of their lineage of raku potters. It features an iron-high light red glaze, with a white painted motif of a rooster, as well as an artist stamp.
