Antique Japanese wooden figure of Jizo Bosatsu, Japanese monk (bodhisattvas) in Zushi, a small portable shrine featuring a lacquered wood case with gilded doors.
Jizo is depicted as a protector of traveler and children. He is holding a Shakujo on his right hand and a Houju on his left hand.
Zushi is made of wood, black lacquered and gilded.
From Edo period, 19th century.
